THE CONFLICTED/TWISTED MINDS OF THOSE WHO DEMONIZE LGBTI ANGLICANS/others

Ah the joy that must sweep over the homophobic/religious bigotted ¨gay hater¨ when he discovers a ¨obvious¨ LGBTI person to target, torment and safely slander near him...another self-righteous adrenaline rush!  Yippee, another layer of false self-esteem!

I don´t think we ought go around policing the ¨look¨ or ¨actions¨  or ¨words¨ of our everyday LGBTI sisters and brothers in order to avoid a less conflicted fuss in the minds of those who despise or demonize...it continues to be way past time for the uninformed bullies to face their own innermost prejudice, self-imagined personal threats, not-so-well disguised sexual demons and/or quirkly religiouslike-phobic-dislikes-disorder...being responsible for their own behavior and ¨righteous¨ acting out is the answer if one is willing to ¨see¨ the fear and hate more clearly...nor can we keep looking away from the bold and in-our-face acts/issues of emotional/spiritual sickness amongst the abusers of fellow human beings.

We won´t ignore injustice and pure bigotry anymore.  Playing pretend isn´t good for anyone/anywhere, in fact, it´s cowardly, codependent and promotes/co-authors the real author and Father of Lies that religiouslike ¨demeaners of others¨ rage on so much about...denial sure isn´t loving or compassionate for anyone...it´s pure slothfullness ignoring wrong doing when one is abused.

It´s always been clear to me, as a Gay person from childhood-into manhood, that there was something very emotionally/spiritually twisted and ¨disordered¨ as well as plain ¨inconsistent¨ about those who ridicule, demonize and attempt to discriminate against/outcast LGBTI family/friends and everyday associates--all one really need do is listen to the vileness that explodes and spews out from the angry mouths of some of those who pretend to be heterosexual ¨normal¨ (many dress-up/clean-up vile words with ¨holy sounding¨ selective Scriptural preachings and faux Biblical understanding with unseen/undemonstrated compassion) but can´t be considered ¨normal¨ in view of their vicious and feardriven reaction to fellow human beings--no, I fully agree with the current assumption that something like a dangerous ¨too close for comfort¨ feeling must set-in when self-righteous religious bigots and their hateful ¨supremist¨ buddies are striking out against LGBTI people of every age...it´s the old business of feeling better and more ¨whole¨ when demeaning others who are seemingly less-than you...a thin and shabby personal cover-up of ones flawed and defective personal character.

Violently ¨loathing¨ innocents is part of the self-loathing/self-destructive problem that can be contagious and may even lead to harming many ¨socially¨ vulnerable LGBTI people who buy into the vile lies and become active drug/alcoholic or sex addicts and/or self-loathing same-sex abusers HERE  and many attempt suicide (more direct/final self-destructiveness)...all the while trying hard to find some place to hide from an authentic sexual variation deep inside that they learned to despise.  Second hand loathing, like smoke, kills. 

Running as fast as one can from the embarrassment and the real pain (often physical as well as emotional and spiritual) of being persecuted and abused is very common amongst ¨closeted¨ or ¨potentially demonized¨ LGBTI people and often is simply, and justifiably, thought safer than facing abusers.  However, it´s not-so-strange that the religious/political ¨demonizers¨ of LGBTI families/fellow citizens are often more convulted of mind and Spirit than those they stridently and obsessively attempt to villify as perverted.  Often the image of the ¨twisted pervert¨ is the image of thugs and sadists on a blood thirsty hate spree.  When a preacher or priest instigates this kind of soul-sickness from the pulpit we´re viewing a gross and demented kind of religious grandstanding on the backs of people they don´t even usually know (much less have a clue about the true individual character of those whom they recklessly slander).

Round and round it goes, the abusers and some of the abused both perpetuate a great and dangerous lie that results in self-deciving and self-demoralizing behavior whether at Church, Temple, Bar or Street.  The homophope and even the innocent victim both can claim lack of personal security and personal emotional stability...the unhealthy blame/shame punishing game will stop when the abusers become ready to face the moral failure tainting their very own personal reality--that is of course the answers will come if they become willing (and find the courage) to face the ongoing truths buried inside of their own feardriven self-deceiving.

CHURCH OF UGANDA’S POSITION ON THE ANTI HOMOSEXUALITY BILL 2009 EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

The Church of Uganda associates itself with the concerns expressed in the Anti Homosexuality Bill 2009. However, instead of a completely new Bill, the Church recommends a Bill that amends the Penal Code Act (Cap.120) addressing loopholes, in particular:

· protecting the vulnerabilities of the boy child;

· proportionality in sentencing;

· and, ensuring that sexual orientation is excluded as a protected human right.

Further, we recommend involvement of all stakeholders in the preparation of such a Bill in order to uphold Uganda’s values as they relate to human sexuality.

Church of Uganda’s position on Homosexuality

The Church of Uganda derives her mandate and authority from the canonical scriptures of the Old and New Testament, as the ultimate rule and standard of faith, given by inspiration of God and containing all things necessary from salvation. Her mission is to “fulfill Christ’s mission through holistic teaching, evangelism, discipleship and healing for healthy and godly nations.”

The Church’s position on human sexuality is consistent with its basis of faith and doctrine, and has been stated very clearly over the years as reflected in various documents. (see footnotes: i, ii, iii)

From a plain reading of Scripture, from a careful reading of Scripture, and from a critical reading of Scripture, homosexual practice has no place in God’s design of creation, the continuation of the human race through procreation, or His plan of redemption.

Even natural law reveals that the very act of sexual intercourse is an experience of embracing the sexual “other”. The Church of Uganda, therefore, believes that “Homosexual practice is incompatible with Scripture” (Resolution 1.10, 1998 Lambeth Conference).


At the same time, the Church of Uganda is committed at all levels to offer counseling, healing and prayer for people with homosexual disorientation, especially in our schools and other institutions of learning. The Church is a safe place for individuals, who are confused about their sexuality or struggling with sexual brokenness, to seek help and healing.

The Objective of the Bill

The Church of Uganda appreciates the spirit of the Bill’s objective of protecting the family, especially in light of a growing propaganda to influence younger people to accept homosexuality as a legitimate way of expressing human sexuality.


We particularly appreciate the objectives of the Bill which seek to:

a) provide for marriage in Uganda as contracted only between a man and woman;

b) prohibit and penalize homosexual behavior and related practices in Uganda as they constitute a threat to the traditional family;

c) prohibit ratification of any international treaties, conventions, protocols, agreements and declarations which are contrary or inconsistent with the provisions of the Act;

d) prohibit the licensing of organizations which promote homosexuality.

The need for a Bill that amends existing legislation

We affirm the need for a Bill in light of the existing loopholes in the current legislation, specifically sections 145-148 of the Penal Code Act (Cap 120), which do not explicitly address the other issues associated with homosexual practice such as procurement, recruitment and dissemination of literature.
That notwithstanding, the ideal situation would be one where necessary amendment is made to existing legislation to also enumerate other sexual offenses such as lesbianism and bestiality. This would not require a fresh bill on homosexuality per se but rather an amendment to the existing provisions which would also change the title to something like “The Penal Code Unnatural Offenses Amendment Bill.”

Recommendation

As Parliament considers streamlining the existing legislation, we recommend that the following issues be taken into consideration:

1. Ensure that the law protects the confidentiality of medical, pastoral and counseling relationships, including those that disclose homosexual practice in accordance with the relevant professional codes of ethics.

2. Language that strengthens the existing Penal Code to protect the boy child, especially from homosexual exploitation; to prohibit lesbianism, bestiality, and other sexual perversions; and to prohibit procurement of material and promotion of homosexuality as normal or as an alternative lifestyle, be adopted.

3. Ensure that homosexual practice or the promotion of homosexual relations is not adopted as a human right.

4. Existing and future Educational materials and programs on gender identity and sex education are in compliance with the values and the laws of Uganda.

5. The involvement of additional stakeholders in the evaluation of the gaps in the existing legislation, including, but not limited to, the Ministry of Health, the Ministry of Education, and the Ministry of Internal Affairs, its Department of Immigration and other relevant departments.

6. The undertaking of a comprehensive legislative and literature review of all the laws and literature related to the subject at hand in order to identify the actual gaps in the existing legislation.
Conclusion

As a Church, we affirm the necessity of appropriate amendments within the existing legislation and corresponding Penal Code sections. The Church of Uganda, being a part of the Anglican Communion, reiterates her position on human sexuality and her desire to uphold the pastoral position of providing love and care for all God’s people caught up in any sin and remaining consistent with Holy Scriptures of the Christian Church.

·Uganda Proposes Death Penalty for Homosexuals·

¨The leadership of the country of Uganda, home once of the infamous Idi Amin, has proposed the death penalty for "aggravated homosexuality." It's just life for touching someone with " the intention of committing the act of homosexuality”.

In prohibiting the “promotion of homosexuality,” the bill would not only bar political activity on behalf of gay rights, but would also require anyone learning the identity of a sexually active gay person to report that information within 24 hours, or face a stiff fine or jail time.

Take the bad and make it better. But there are no maybes for the gay men of Uganda. There is only the prospect of brutal punishment. As long as those sanctions exist, as long as our brothers suffer, we are all Ugandans.¨ HERE

“I believe it is actually an opportunity for the Archbishop of Canterbury to take back the moral high ground from the Church of Uganda leaders. Besides now not having an 'official' stance on the bill, they are stopping the comments. ¨The Archbishop of York, John Sentamu, has made it clear that he will make no comment on the Bill, but pressure is growing on the Archbishop of Canterbury, Rowan Williams, to make a statement.

“I am sure that the vast majority of Christians - who hold a range of views on sexual ethics - will be horrified by the extreme and violent measures proposed in this Bill” said Symon Hill, associate director of the religion and society thinktank Ekklesia.

“By speaking out, it is possible to expose the hollowness of the religious rhetoric used by the Bill's supporters,” he added, “Given the place of Anglicanism in Ugandan life, it would be right and proper for the Archbishop of Canterbury, Rowan Williams, to end his silence and to oppose the bill in public.

ANGLICAN COMMUNION HUMAN RIGHTS OBSERVER AT THE UNITED NATIONS

Ugandan Mrs Hellen Grace Wangusa, the former United Nations Africa coordinator of the Millennium Development Goals, accepted the call to be the next Anglican Observer at the United Nations in October last year. Speaking last year for ACNS, Hellen said she hopes to strengthen the rich contribution of the Anglican Communion into the political hubs at the United Nations and combine that with the UN committees in Geneva that specialise in humanitarian work. “I am keen to use my representative position to focus on War, Peace and promote diplomatic means of diffusing tensions and resolving conflicts," she said, "and from my ecumenical experience, promote relationships between member churches."

Clarifying What Is Bigotry

¨The real bigot openly works for the establishment of state religion — his or her religion, naturally. Whether as a voter or lobbyist or legislator or judge or media person, he or she aims to see draconian laws passed that would deprive the disapprovees of their civil rights. ¨While some Anglican primates, such as Archbishop Peter Akinola, have refused to condemn physical assaults on gay people, most of those who oppose homosexual practice insist that they do not believe in persecuting gay people. Yes, it does. He has good connections with the First Family, and has given of his accumulating wealth, judiciously. I mean, he has been giving to the police. Gifts of appreciation.¨ HERE

¨Kampala — THE first half of this year left its mark in the history of Uganda's Born-again church. Renowned pastor, Robert Kayanja, was accused of sodomy.

A group of five pastors and their colleagues pinned the Rubaga Miracle Centre cleric but Kayanja denied the allegations, calling them mudslinging.

The accusers were pastors Michael Kyazze, Martin Ssempa, Solomon Male, Kayiira and Semujju.¨ HERE

¨End result, the police exhonerated Pastor Kayanja, who continues his ministry. The other pastors are in court, for defamation, and other things.... Yeah, they actually are alleged to have given money to some young men to accuse Kayanja of having been gay.¨

UPDATE: Anglican Communion’s Tangled Connections To Uganda’s Anti-Gay Pogrom

¨There has been considerable consternation over the worldwide Anglican Communion’s silence on the Anti-Homosexuality Bill that is now before Uganda’s Parliament. That bill would reaffirm a penalty of life imprisonment for anyone convicted of being gay and impose the death penalty under certain circumstances.

It would also criminalize all advocacy on behalf of LGBT citizens, and impose criminal penalties on family, friends, teachers, counselors and ministers who fail to report LGBT persons to the police.¨

¨The new bill would outlaw Integrity Uganda and would put clergy, physicians and relatives who support their gay and lesbian neighbors and family members at risk for severe fines and possible imprisonment. The proposed law may mean neighbors who do not inform on each other for supporting LGBT civil rights are subject to punishment. We have not seen such a draconian system of isolation and institutional rejection of a minority community in Uganda since the anti Jewish laws passed by the Third Reich.¨ HERE

PURITY CULTS: Selfproclaimed ¨Godliness¨ and ¨Sexual Purity¨ at The Anglican Communion and Beyond? Part Two...UPDATED!

It seems Purity Cult recruiting is a result of emotional/spiritual instability, great EGO strivings for wealth/greed, religious selfrighteousness and ¨better-than-others-ness¨...endless demands/assurances for eternal salvation, pridefilled EGOS running riot or even secret sexual ¨longings¨ threatening ¨exposure¨ of lack of PURITY from within.

Cult recruiting is often done as the result of war-mongering and/or by the victimization/exploitation done to REAL HUMAN BEINGS during/aftermath of BLOODY REAL WAR (tribal, civil and international). Fear/hate and bigotry are also promoted amongst Cult leaders. The active demoralization and demonization of Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgendered or even any other ¨difference¨ such as customs, religion, tribe, color, region, intelligence/lack of, or even physical/mental or spiritual ¨imperfections¨ too.

I believe many fearfilled family members, coworkers and loved ones/friends have been misled on the subject of LGBT Christians/others at Church and at everyday life. Sometimes generations of shame and blame have been used to torment LGBT family members to ¨fix¨ them...sometimes devastating economic threats and/or immediate physical outcasting from the family are used as tools for curing, so called, LGBT ¨abominations.¨

Often these pridefilled/selfrighteous threats, from bigots, family or not, lead to suicide or other forms of self-destruction, such as alcoholism or drug/sex addiction, for the victims of such brutal family and social abuse.


Misled by more-than-rightest politicos and some religious extremists, some of OUR family members and friends, have chosen to actively CULTIVATE the persecution and discrimination, legal or not, of LGBT people. We have seen illegal attempts, in our face, on television, in the News, on Talk Shows as ¨excluders and demonizers¨of LGBT people proclaim a not-so-subtle desire for a social/sexual orientation cleansing...a cleansing that is clearly perverted and often stems from personal religious/social and/or emotional instability...a need for immediate self-searching, the admitting of wrong done against others and sometimes even psychological treatment too might help the abusers of LGBT Christians/others. The instigators of fear, hate and CULT PURITY are a emotionally/spiritually troubled lot who aggressively and defiantly inflict harm on innocents...often gravely.


LGBT family, friends and everyday people have always been with you. We have listened endlessly to slanderous and hateful nonsense (mostly) generated against us as we sat next to you at Church, at school, at work and at play. We have heard and seen it all, in terms of filth and hate crimes, that have been spewn forth and been acted-out upon us by religious fanatics and their purity cult followers...

Religious cults with dangerous and immoral leaders who wish us persecution, imprisonment, injury and death...we have heard the same sort of everyday vile viciousness from thugs on the street and amongst associates with very bad, and insensitive, levels of judgment...we now have listened to the same type of hateful ignorant rantings at The Anglican Communion preached by honorless grandstanders, bigots and thieves.

We´ve listened, now, it´s YOUR turn to listen.

A Gay Horsethief is a Gay Horsethief. A Heterosexual Bankrobber is a Heterosexual Bankrobber. Both stealing horses and robbing banks, or plotting with others (sexual orientation unimportant) to do so, are crimes...no matter who does it, even if a Closet Lesbian or a Celibate Nun did it or a Rabbi with 12 Children or a Married Bisexual Accountant. Got it? That´s equality, that´s justice, that ought be REALITY...most religious folks/others would call thieving a sin (and a deadly one along with lieing for a native/ancient Inca).

Nobody moves.

Nobody is going anywhere. Nature is going to have to take it´s course...LGBT Christians/others must be and are responsible for their own actions (mostly) and so MUST BE heterosexuals (surely you read the news). The true character of a individual has NOTHING to do with sexual orientation (surely you read the news). Forget it. No matter what bigotted junktalk, twisted Scriptural selective slander or personal apprehensions or acute loathings YOU have subscribed to. Clear your head of needless, fearfilled and angry, anti LGBT inner chatter.

Being responsible and accountable, EACH ONE of us, in a mirrored innermost reflection before ourselves, our fellows and God represents GENUINE personal integrity. Being held personally responsible for ones tainted thoughts, viscious actions or loving acts/beliefs is the test of true self-worth and honorability. The days of damning and spewing PRETENDED wrongs by loud, thieving, grandstanding and often ignorant cultish hipocrites who judge/condemn OTHERS is nearly over.

Those of you who refuse to seek help, and reach out from underneath your obsessive and cultish anti Gay ¨sickness¨...well, I pray you´ll find strength and willingness to find a self-searching place. I suggest that you get authentic spiritual, and loving, guidance and the professional emotional help that you may need as soon as possible.
