Scott Lively and David Bahati Inducted into HRW Homphobia "Hall of Shame"

¨On the International Day Against Homophobia & Transphobia (IDAHO), the Human Rights Watch highlights public officials who have failed in their basic duty to respect human rights for all. They are inducted into the "Hall of Shame." This years inductees include two key players in the Anti-Homosexuality Bill of 2009, Scott Lively from the United States and MP David Bahati from Uganda.

A member of the Ugandan parliament and an American pastor are top 2011 candidates for the Homophobia Hall of Shame, Human Rights Watch said today. Human Rights Watch made the announcement in advance of the International Day Against Homophobia and Transphobia on May 17.

David Bahati, the Ugandan parliament member, is the author of a draconian Anti-Homosexuality Bill discussed in parliament in recent days. Scott Lively, the pastor, has urged governments around the globe, including Uganda, to deny basic human rights to lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people.

"Both Bahati and Lively are promoting hatred and putting the lives and security of LGBT people at serious risk," said Graeme Reid, director of Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender Rights (LGBT) Program at Human Rights Watch. "Their efforts in Uganda would jeopardize the work of national and international human rights groups and activists as well as the lives of people who want to live in safety and dignity." please read it all, HERE

How about if Lively and Bahiti share the honor of top place in the Hall of Shame?

Mimi, I´m not certain Lively will play second fiddle to anyone for anything-- true, it´s hard to decide but I think Bahati is more vicious on the ground in Uganda to hundreds of thousands of LGBTI human beings-- the man reeks of self-righteous religious pogrom-making...Lively is just a deadly criminal scam type (a coward who lives off of the tragedy he introduces into the LGBTI lives in Uganda and beyond but stays far away from the fronts).
