The Church of Nigeria, Anglican Communion, has performed the first of the, required, terror/bloodletting rituals that will result in the greater danger and the  further damning/marginalizing of LGBT Anglicans/Nigeria. Sickly and sacredlike ¨oaths¨ are now being ¨sworn¨ which will force thousands of Nigerian Church members to lie, betray themselves and live with their very own  brothers/sisters/others in a faked world filled with over-the-top denial and pretend.  A world far away from Gods request for personal responsibility and moral accountability, Gods wishes which translates into acceptance of other human beings while showing compassion and love for them too. The quest for honorable TRUTH is tainted once again by those who would harm/thieve from others at Church.  Grandstanding religiouslike priests are now spreading  WORDS of difference, demeaning  contempt for LGBTI people with better-than-thouness preaching.  They spew hate with  their ignorance in the name of a God who apparently punishes, destroys his followers and ingnites flames of VILENESS and SUPERSTION=HATE!.  These NEW spiritualike and wild-eyed ¨oath¨ rituals contortions/socuraging Nigeria have crossed way over the line of basic decency at Church and beyond.

¨The Church of Nigeria (Anglican Communion) has introduced a clause in its constitution subjecting members, who intend to hold positions in church, to take an oath of allegiance to God denouncing homosexuality.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the public denunciation took place in Abuja on Sunday at St. Matthews, Maitama, during the swearing-in of new members of the Parish Church Council (PCC).

The Vicar of the church, Ven. Ben Idume, who administered the oath to members of the PCC, said the church recognised that those with such sexual orientation needed help and counselling.

“But they would not be allowed to hold any position in church,’’ he said.

The legislation is significant because it applies to members of the laity, clergy and house of bishops of the church.

It also banned bisexuals from holding any church office.

¨He was speaking in Abeokuta, the Ogun state capital during the 70th birthday of his predecessor, Dr, Peter Akinola, held at the Cathedral of St. Peter, Ake, Abeokuta.

He however commended President Goodluck Jonathan for his courage in signing the anti-gay bill into law which has continued to generate reactions in some quarters in Nigeria and beyond.

According to him, those not in support of the bill are like the biblical duo, Adam and Eve who questioned God for asking them not to eat the fruits from the Garden of Eden.

His words: “Many people do not realise that what is referred to as the homosexual trouble is not the homosexual or lesbian trouble but people’s refusal to accept the scripture for what it is, authority for life and practice following God.

¨SUNDAY, August 19, 2012, was a memorable day in the history of the Anglican Communion Worldwide.

It was when the Primate of Church of Nigeria (Anglican Communion), Most Rev. Nicholas Okoh; the Primate of the Anglican Church in North America, Most Rev. Robert Duncan, accompanied by three Nigerian Archbishops (Most Rev. Olu Akinyemi, Most Rev. Ikechi Nwosu and Most Rev. Ignatius Kattey), and nine other Bishops, inaugurated a new diocese in North America.

The duly elected and consecrated Bishop of the Diocese, Rt. Rev Amos Akinseye Fagbamiye, was also enthroned at the Anglican Cathedral Church of the Resurrection, Indianapolis.

The new cathedral was filled with the glory of God and people from within and outside the United States of America and Canada who gathered to witness the historic event.

In his sermon, Primate Okoh thanked the Missionary Bishop of CANA, Rt. Rev Martyn Minns, for his commitment to the mission of the Church. He congratulated the Bishop and members of CANA on birth of the new diocese. He also empathised with some of the CANA churches that lost their buildings after years of litigations with The Episcopal Church of the USA.

He said: “The loss is clear sign of the sickness afflicting our Communion. Those churches should see this new reality as a privilege for them to serve the Lord in a different way, move them out of their comfort zone, give them opportunity to share in the call of Christ, like the early apostles, and God’s way of doing new things in their lives”.

The bill goes much further than banning same-sex marriage; it threatens to ban the formation of groups supporting homosexuality, with imprisonment for anyone who “witnesses, abet[s] or aids” same-gender relationships, and could lead to any discussion or activities related to gay rights being banned.

Under a colonial-era law, sodomy is punishable by a 14-year jail sentence; and in the country’s mainly Muslim northern states, where a version of Shar’ia law applies, the penalty is death by stoning, although this has never officially been carried out.

New Primate of the Anglican Church, Archbishop Nicholas Okoh, has restated the position of the Anglican Communion in Nigeria against the practice of gay marriage in the church


Okoh, who is also the chairman of the Nigerian Christian Pilgrims Commission, while delivering the sermon of the day, said, “We do not approve of a homosexual lifestyle and same-sex marriages. Some want us to see it as a normal alternative lifestyle to marriage between male and female. We are saying we are sorry, we cannot accept this in the church.¨

WHY I WRITE

¨The first reason why I write is that I want to challenge ignorance. There is a lot of ignorance around us; even among those we think or believe they know. Too often, we concede too much to people, believing that they know, only for us to discover, when it is too late that they do not know. The most dangerous form of ignorance in Nigeria today comes from our leadership, many of those who govern us do not know, they do not care to know and they do not want to know. Even when they are told that they do not know, they get angry, instead of looking up to their inadequacy and how to rectify them, they turn the heat on those who told them so.¨ HERE
