AMERICAN POLITICAL PHILOSOPHY and/or MOTHER GOOSE RHYME: ¨For every ailment under the sun There is a remedy, or there is none...¨

Destitute of hope; having no expectation of good; despairing?

HAS THE REPUBLICAN PARTY MACHINE AND FOX NEWS ¨Mother Goose¨ RHYMES GROSSED YOU OUT? ARE YOU STILL ABLE TO SEE/HEAR WITH CLARITY AND KNOW THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN REALITY AND PRETEND? DO YOU KNOW THE ACTUAL/FACTUAL SIMILARITIES BETWEEN BLACK, WHITE, BROWN, YELLOW, LESBIAN, HETEROSEXUAL, GAY, BISEXUAL, TRANSGENDER, ELK, MOOSE, TRUTH, SEXUAL SLAVERY AND THE VILENESS OF FEMALE AND CHILD ABUSE? DO YOU EASILY BELIEVE BIGOTS AS THEY SMEAR WITH HATE AND LIES AND ENCOURAGE YOU TO WAR AND DESPISE? HAVE YOU SURRENDERED YOUR GOOD JUDGEMENT, COMMON SENSE AND TRUST IN GOD FOR THE SLURS OF KARL ROVE, SARAH PALIN AND MRS O´REILEY´S COW/SOW? ARE YOU IN A STATE OF SPIRITUAL CONFUSION AND EMOTIONAL DISTRESS OR CAN YOU STILL COPE WITH ++ROWAN, THE POPE AND THE LDS WITHOUT RUSH LIMBAUGHS DOPE? ARE YOU BLESSED WITH SERENITY AND PEACE OF MIND OR DO YOU PURSUE GREEDY EARTHLY IRRESPONSIBILITY WHILE HATING VARIOUS SELECTIVE SCRIPTURAL DEMONIZED HUMAN SPECIES OF OUR MANKIND?

Lord, have mercy.

¨O God and Heavenly Father,
Grant to us the serenity of mind to accept that which cannot be changed; courage to change that which can be changed, and wisdom to know the one from the other, through Jesus Christ our Lord, Amen.¨
Reinhold Niebuhr (1934) HERE

The philosopher W.W. Bartley juxtaposes Niebuhr's prayer with a Mother Goose rhyme (1695) expressing a similar sentiment, but without comment:

¨For every ailment under the sun
There is a remedy, or there is none;
If there be one, try to find it;
If there be none, never mind it.¨

UPDATED:Why Do Good People Form Bad Corporations?

Reinhold Niebuhr was one of Martin Luther King's favorite theologians. Niebuhr is President Obama's favorite theologian, too. It's too bad the Supreme Court doesn't read theology. If they did, their decision to grant organizations carte blanche in political contributions might have been different. B.J. Gallagher, HERE

They are suffering from the tragedy of 12 January when a 7.3 earthquake destroyed a major part of the infrastructure of this nation and left more than 100.000 dead and millions of homeless. It is one of the greatest tragedies that we have seen in recent times.¨
