REPUBLICAN SANTORUM BLAMES HOMOSEXUALS: A society that´s broken disregards the family and doesn´t teach moral values and faith...

“Multiculturalism Threatens America,” this little (anti-)think piece whines and moans about how America’s not America anymore because it’s not Rick’s America HERE
¨It wasn't our economic policies, it wasn't the housing bubble, it wasn't unfunded wars, it wasn't greedy banksters, it wasn't tax breaks for billionaires... It was homos:

"Letting the family break down and in fact encouraging it and inciting more breakdown through this whole redefinition of marriage debate, and not supporting strong nuclear families and not supporting and standing up for the dignity of human life. Those lead to a society that’s broken.... If you think that we can be a society that [that] disregards the family and the important role it plays, and doesn’t teach moral values and the important role of faith in the public square, and then expect people to be good, decent and moral when they behave economically, if you look at the root cause of the economic problems that we’re dealing with on Wall Street and Main Street I might add, from 2008, they were huge moral failings." It is not comforting to know that Ms. Bachmann and Mr. Perry are not the only crazies in the Republican campaign. What an asshat!

Leonardo, off topic, but did you get my email? The snail mail arrived. :-)

Dear Jim, yes, the whole thing seems to be gathering like a very dangerous storm-- hopefully the hurricane of hate that has impacted so many LGBT lives for lifetimes has passed...what´s a little storm after such historial daily horror and destructiveness? I hope we´ve seen the worst and I´m somehow glad these ¨charactors,¨ and they are almost evil-fictional goons, expose themselves as they do...trust me, it´s good to see, the insanity, made public after the whispers of ¨abuse¨ most of us have lived through for our entire lives...it almost amuses me they are so wild-assed crazy, worse than previous thought by me, but their emotional and spiritual sickness runs very deep (for all to see)...exposes them for the bigotted culprits they really are...I rest my case.

We all need to start filling the air- and net-waves with the message, "the family hasn't broken down, it has grown much larger, it's now not limited to only straight couples: it's gay families and lesbian families, it's broken free from the RC shackles that bound it in an idolatrous caste. This new family is stronger because it's more diverse, it includes parents and grandparents who recognize and celebrate the love they see springing up from their progeny. Death and hatred are being swallowed up in victory; shout it out!

Don't return hatred with hatred. Return hatred with love. Flood the air, bathe the 'Net with witnesses of love, joy, and peace, Leave no quarter, no niche where love cannot be expressed. This is the way by which Satan will be turned to dust under our feet.

Pfalz Prophet,

Yes, it´s true, things are goinging swimmingly (even though we must not ignore the deadly reality of those who do/would harm us)...your words are very soothing and a great reminder to me to NOT get carried away with my well-earned (and sometimes rationalized) contempt for those who abuse, demonize and initiate hate crime against others...one of the great things I´ve come to know in my adult life is when to say ¨no¨ when to say ¨yes¨ and when to say ¨maybe¨ (or change my mind altogether)...I once only told people what I thought they wanted to hear...I once was cowardly when listening to *friends* as they spoke vile stuff about people like me...I once manipulated circumstances to ¨fit¨ my life so I could be me...frankly, it´s healthier for me, spiritually and emotionally to say exactly what´s on my mind...my imperfect world of pretending things are different than I wanted them to be, collapsed and left me in a miserable heap...thank God, yes God (I think) made it clear to me that I was ¨to be¨ the authentic person God created me to be-- not always pretty, not always appropriate, rarely ¨dressed up¨ and not always loving but authentic, sincere, my own... hopefully when I´m wrong I can now promptly admit it...something I didn´t do before...but, saying NO is a great blessing to me.

Thanks for being here,
Leonardo

Dear Len and friends,

The whole lot of Republican candidates for President remind me of a circus with no ringleader. The swaggering Rick Perry of Big T Texas and his threats to ring the neck of Ben Bernanke of the Federal Reservie to Michelle and Marcus Bachman, her fabrications and lies, and his flights of fancy on his very gay tippy toes...and it goes on. But throughout it all is the hateful message against gays and lesbians and bisexual and transgendered folks. Lord, we are not the threat against marriage. Divorce is!! (quote by former Mayor Richard M. Daley at the annual Gay Hall of Fame gathering). In addition, what really scares me is this additional undercurrent of a "cleansing" of the poor, the disadvantaged, the disenfranchised, pushing them off to the side and hoping that they fall off the cliff into oblivion. And all of this coming from the mouths of people who proclaim themselves Christians!! I wonder what Christ they follow because it is not the same Jesus Christ who reached out to the poor, the sick, the lame...always helping the least of these.

Well, all this is enough to make my blood pressure rise and I need not do that. But I had to weigh in. We cannot and must not be silent on these matters.

Thanks Richard,

Yes, I think it´s true, no more pretending when it comes to wishing *things* were/are different than they really are...reality is wonderful, it´s approachable, it´s promotes vision and change...reality is a starting point and coming up short point and it´s something I hated (in a earlier time when fear, self-loathing and denial ran my life...or, I ran from my life with using pretend)...whew, that was hard to get away from ¨wishful¨ thinking or engineering *things* to be different than they really were...exhausting quests by a steamrolling/coward (odd couple). Nope, gotta keep my head out of the clouds, all the while knowing my only real need is to remain authentic, candid and say no to what I perceive as lies, abuse and injustice directed against me and people like me and zillions of others (who are heterosexual or not)...it´s about me as I take the hard choice and remain in reality and speak/watch out against bigotry, greed, slavery and worse (there is a lot worse going on if one keeps their eye on real in Uganda, Nigeria, Jamaica, England and beyond)...it´s my responsibility to stay focused on reality and stop playing pretend...I may be powerless to DO anything but I stay committed to not hiding from real...the abusers and exploiters of others are in their ¨final days¨ (let us pray).

Love to you,
Leonardo/Len
