STEP RIGHT UP....come right IN, make yourself COMFORTABLE and we will fix you a drink (or whatever warms your heart)...

Thank you for noticing, we´ve been away (and thank you for the private notes too)...our cyberconnections have been OUT being rennovated but we´re all set to welcome you back to the foot of the volcano...it´s been raining like crazy and the countryside, albeit with a few troublesome landslides, is Emerald GREEN and super HEALTHY! Green is my favorite color and soon this land of vegetable abundance will be heading into Summertime (December)...already everything is lush, blooming and ripening...it´s gorgeous here and the open markets are filled with fresh produce. Unfortunately, gasoline is over $5.00 a gallon and so many of the small farmers who have no trucks are paying more to get the produce to the village and city markets...prices have gone up a bit in all the stores, but the banks-savings remain secure (Government assures), the Dollar drops in value, ¨Chicken Buses¨ are more expensive yet we still feel very fortunate to live here in our small village with overall small expenses and small material demands with no need for heat or air conditioning and lovely Coffee Fincas and Viveros surrounding our lives.

All is well and we send you our greetings and best wishes for peace, peace of mind and personal happiness from Central America on another rainy afternoon (hoping our friends and neighbors in Mexico are surviving the two Hurricanes that have come their way).

Welcome back to the world of the connected! Leonardo, is that cheerful space your home "bar"? I love it!

(I've been spiffing up my 2BR condo/home base this year, and I have a cheerful little non-alcoholic set up planned. I'm collecting fruit elixirs to place on the wine bottle/glass shelf...and on the lookout for some fab water goblets to replace the traditional stemware. Thanks - you've reminded me I should make it cheerful!)

Hi Lynn,

Although I´ve not had a drink for almost 30 years (December 13th) I never forget that some friends enjoy alcohol...I´ve never been uncomfortable about having it in my home or going to parties or anywhere it is served...this bar, that I painted is actually more elaborate than it looks as the sides of the barstools are now painted/studded too...people love my bar and I had it built on rollers and it can often be found in the patio/innergarden or in my Sala-studio...I love giving dinner parties and entertaining friends and visitors...I find that most folks drink very little (blows my mind) and I don´t think anyone has ever really overdone *it* (except a man from Washington DC who was visiting here and had recently lost his wife to Cancer). Anyway, I love great looking table top and goblets-etc...last week I found more GREAT PLATES (I purchased 14)...cheap!

THERE you are:) and What a lovely bar:)

I thought you might be traveling and have been racing for the last week myself. A bit of a breather here, then onto the last 3.5 weeks of the election, diving into two local political issues unrelated to the election, etc.

Glad to have you back, Leonardo... never ever the same without you.

Leonardo,
In honor of your Grand Return:

Walk right in, sit right down
Daddy, let your mind roll on
Walk right in, sit right down
Daddy, let your mind roll on
Everybody's talkin' 'bout a new way of walkin'
Do you want to lose your mind?
Walk right in, sit right down
Daddy, let your mind roll on

Walk right in, sit right down
Baby, let your hair hang down
Walk right in, sit right down
Baby, let your hair hang down
Everybody's talkin' 'bout a new way of walkin'
Do you want to lose your mind?
Walk right in, sit right down
Baby, let your hair hang down

[guitar interlude]

Walk right in, sit right down
Daddy, let your mind roll on
Walk right in, sit right down
Daddy, let your mind roll on
Everybody's talkin' 'bout a new way of walkin'
Do you want to lose your mind?
Walk right in, sit right down
Daddy, let your mind roll on
Daddy, let your mind roll on

Hi Leonardo--The trees here are just starting to turn and next week we will have some beautiful color. But soon the winter coats will come out and the heat will get cranked up. I will be green with envy over your lush paradise.

Lynn--Palzgraf is always sending me their catalogs and they have some lovely glassware, often on sale.

Thanks for the welcome back...no rain today and the place is blasting with live birds tweeting and chirping with glee...all is well and Chepe, the twice a week, nightime Gardner is doing his thing (he´s the supervisor at a large vivero during the days)...our garden is wonderful as Juan Carlos has quite a green thumb too...I´ll have him take some photos soon...it´s quite exotic and beautiful in my real life garden of heavenly delights...thank again for being here with me (wherever it is that we think we are).

Gorgeous... como quisiera venir en América Central pero hay que esperar mucho tiempo.

So keep putting up photos of your verdura and I can come vicariously.

BTW, the rectory I am about to leave has a bar in the cellar that a former inhabitant glommed onto from his pal who had bought an Italian restaurant and turned it into an elder care home. I always said I'd smash the thing before I left. I only have four weeks left!
