Governor Palin INACCURATELY makes claims against Senator OBAMA....day after day, Palin is a CHRONIC LIAR and thinks she is above the LAW!

Palin Suggests Obama Would Re-Write Constitution

October 29, 2008 7:57 AM

ABC News' Imtiyaz Delawala Reports:

Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin went beyond her running mate's recent attack on Sen. Barack Obama -- inaccurately claiming that Obama called the lack of "redistributive change" during the civil rights movement a "tragedy" -- and used Obama's 2001 interview to insinuate that he wants to re-write the U.S. Constitution and appoint radical Supreme Court justices and judges who would confiscate the property of American citizens.

At two rallies in Western Pennsylvania last night, Palin referenced at the top of her remarks a 2001 public radio interview with Obama that surfaced this week, in which Obama discussed the role of the courts in the civil rights movement.

"There he was talking about the need for quote 'redistributive change,'" Palin said on the campus of Shippensburg University Tuesday night. “Sen. Obama said that he regretted that the Supreme Court hadn't been more radical. And he described the Court's refusal to take up the issues of redistribution of wealth as a tragedy. And he said he also regretted that the Supreme Court didn't break free from the essential constraints that were placed by the founding fathers there in the Constitution”

Obama had in fact argued the opposite in the 2001 interview, saying that the civil rights movement had become too focused on making change through the judicial system, rather than from the ground up through community organizations.

But Palin used Obama's words to follow an argument Sen. John McCain has made this week that Obama has long-advocated for "spreading the wealth." "Obama says that he wants to spread the wealth," Palin said to boos from the crowd. "In other words he thinks that it's your job to earn the wealth and it's his job to spread it."

But Palin then went beyond any argument McCain has made, using the 2001 interview to insinuate that Obama wants to re-write the U.S. Constitution and appoint radical Supreme Court justices, while also suggesting that under Obama, judges would confiscate the property of American citizens.

Referencing the interview, Palin said, "So you have to ask, is this a suggestion that's he’d want to re-write the founding document of our great nation to accomplish his goals. And what does that say about his ideas on future Supreme Court justices?"

"Let me remind Barack Obama of something else. When judges don’t confiscate your property and your hard-earned -- all of your hard-earned money and then re-distribute that, he may call that a tragedy. But I call it fairness and adherence to our U.S. Constitution," Palin added later in her remarks.

In the interview, Obama described one of the "tragedies of the civil rights movement" was that "the civil rights movement became so court-focused".

"I think that there was a tendency to lose track of the political and community organizing activities on the ground that are able to put together the actual coalitions of power through which you bring about redistributive change, and in some ways, we still suffer from that," Obama said in the interview.

When a caller asked whether economic redistribution should come through the courts or the legislative process, Obama replied, "I'm not optimistic about bringing about major redistributive change through the courts. The institution just isn't structured that way."

Obama's 2001 interview made no mention of judges confiscating property. The Palin campaign did not provide clarification on what Palin was referring to with the remark.

Palin said the 2001 interview revealed Obama's "real ideology" and that his goal to "spread your wealth around" would only spread "scarcity and poverty and bureaucracy" and would stifle the country's entrepreneurial spirit. She asked those in the crowd to support the Republican ticket to preserve the "uniquely American system that our founding fathers created."

"Sometimes in politics it's those candid little moments that give us the whole picture," Palin said at a second rally on the Penn State campus in State College, PA last night. "But our opponent's ideological commitment to spread your wealth around has been tried in other societies, and the only thing it ever spreads is scarcity and poverty and bureaucracy, and it stifles the entrepreneurial spirit that made this country the greatest country on Earth."

The comments were similar to remarks Palin made at rallies this weekend in Iowa, where the Republican vice presidential nominee seemed to move from accusing Obama’s economic plans of having elements of socialism to also allude to the problems faced by communist systems.¨

The Twelve Lies of Sarah Palin

From Andrew Sullivan:

¨Just for the record, I asked an intern to go back and double fact-check the twelve documented lies that Sarah Palin has told on the public record. These are not hyperbolic claims or rhetorical excess. They are assertions of fact that are demonstrably untrue and remain uncorrected. Every single one of the lies I documented holds up after several news cycles have had a chance to vet them even further.

I know the MSM demands that we move on from the fact that someone who could be president next January has a list of public lies so extensive and indisputable that the McCain campaign has still not been able to rebut or even address any one of them, while fencing her off from the press and refusing to hold a press conference to clear the air on so many murky questions of fact that get to the core of whether this person is fit to be vice-president or president.

So for the record, let it be known that the candidate for vice-president for the GOP is a compulsive, repetitive, demonstrable liar. If you follow the links, here is the proof. I repeat: proof:

- She has lied about the Bridge To Nowhere. She ran for office favoring it, wore a sweatshirt defending it, and only gave it up when the federal congress, Senator McCain in particular, went ballistic. She kept the money anyway and favors funding Don Young's Way, at twice the cost of the original bridge.

- She has lied about her firing of the town librarian and police chief of Wasilla, Alaska.

- She has lied about pressure on Alaska's public safety commissioner to fire her ex-brother-in-law.

- She has lied about her previous statements on climate change.

- She has lied about Alaska's contribution to America's oil and gas production.

- She has lied about when she asked her daughters for their permission for her to run for vice-president.

- She has lied about the actual progress in constructing a natural gas pipeline from Alaska.

- She has lied about Obama's position on habeas corpus.

- She has lied about her alleged tolerance of homosexuality.

- She has lied about the use or non-use of a TelePrompter at the St Paul convention.

- She has lied about her alleged pay-cut as mayor of Wasilla.

- She has lied about what Alaska's state scientists concluded about the health of the polar bear population in Alaska.

You cannot trust a word she says. On anything.¨

Compulsive Lying:

¨Compulsive lying is quite common, and some compulsive liars become successful businessmen or politicians!

Medically speaking, compulsive liars can have serious personality disorders. A few are psychopathic, but others are suffering from some form of neurosis which is often linked to stress and childhood trauma.¨

Hi Leonardo--She is STILL at it, gads! Honestly she makes it up as she goes along.

I have hardly cracked the cover of this month's Atlantic (shame on me) but I did start the article on "Should Children Have Sex Changes." Interesting so far but I haven't come to the writer's conclusion yet so it would be premature to comment on it.

As to lying factors, there is also what I call "lying by omission." A behavior which seems to have run amok in the Anglican Communion. But, since I seem to be getting on everyone's nerves by telling the truth, I won't go there.

So, for comfort food these words from the Old Testament lesson from Deuteronomy this morning:

"Moses spoke the words of this song: Give ear, O heavens, and I will speak; let the earth hear the words of my mouth. May my teaching drop like the rain, my sppech condense like the dew, like gentle rain on grass, like showers on new growth. For I will proclaim the name of the LORD; ascribe greatness to our God! The Rock, his work is perfect, and all his ways are just. A faithful God, without deceit, just and upright is he."

And, as always, prayers offered for you all.

Hi Leonardo--THANKS!

The Obama 1/2 hour tonight was really great. Did you have a chance to see it? He is most definitely a class act.

I have been contemplating "the chair" for days now. How did you do that?

Leonard said...

Bonnie,

We didn´t get the Obama 1/2 hour on my cable company...friends that get all the Channels report he was fabulous...one friend I called was actually in tears...she said ¨I´m so moved by the directness and integrity of Obama...finally I have hope.¨ Hope for mankind is what she was talking about.

I just watched Clinton and Obama in Florida...a friend of mine, a Director for a huge company, lives there...she reports that although her neighborhood is largely for McCain (she had her Obama sign stolen off her lawn) she feels that Obama will take Florida...she´s never seen such natural enthusiasm for any candidate.

Bill Clinton was great. I´m going to bed with yet another fresh rush of HOPE...the same HOPE I´ve always had for humanity.

Abrazos to all

Habitual lying is ónly p a r t of the Diagnose, as far as I understand it.

Having had the experience of a few, professionally and privately, I think she is a real Psychopath.

Göran,

I think you´re right, this is a dangerous and self-seeking Psychopath set free and encouraged to rush about causing harm...as a candidate for one of the most key elected offices in the World we are facing very ugly eventualities if she is not sent home ¨packing¨ fast.

Hi Leonardo--Completely OT. We went out today and cast our votes for OBAMA and will spend some time Monday and Tuesday and phone banks helping to get out the vote.

I see that the Governator has endorsed a NO on Prop 8 and hopefully that will help.

Sarah teenager may blather on but polls are showing that most voters have made up their minds about how they will vote and those polls are still favoring Obama.

Thanks Bonnie, and where you live it is VERY encouraging still! Thanks for all you´re doing and I wish I were there to help...meanwhile, I´ll keep sputtering at the foot of the volcano!

Love to all,
