IN SEARCH OF BASIC DECENCY AND GOODNESS? ¨It´s not complicated but it takes courage¨

Pablo Casals performs at the Kennedy White House HERE
¨Each person has inside a basic decency and goodness. If he listens to it and acts on it, he is giving a great deal of what it is the world needs most. It is not complicated but it takes courage. It takes courage for a person to listen to his own goodness and act on it.¨  Pablo Casals

Amen, Señor Casals. He showed the courage of his convictions by going into exile during the Franco regime.

I heard the master play a very long time ago, probably before 1960. The sounds he brought forth from the cello were incredibly beautiful.

His retirement home was in Puerto Rico...Ocean Park (a strip between Condado and Isla Verde right on the beach) and I often drove by it just because it had a sense of ¨presence¨about it...it was modern in design but soothing in spirit...never failed to please me and accross the street was all white beach.
