QUESTION: Can a US Supreme Court justice be impeached and removed from office? ANSWER: Yes!

"An impeachable offense is whatever a majority of the House of Representatives considers it to be at a given moment in history."

Under normal circumstances, a Supreme Court justice is awarded a lifetime commission.

¨A Supreme Court Justice may be impeached by the House of Representatives and removed from office if convicted in a Senate trial, but only for the same types of offenses that would trigger impeachment proceedings for any other government official under Article I and II of the Constitution...

John Glover Roberts, Jr.
17th Chief Justice of the United States

...Section 1 of Article III states that judges of Article III courts shall hold their offices "during good behavior." The phrase "good behavior" has been interpreted by the courts to equate to the same level of seriousness the 'high crimes and misdemeanors´ encompasses...

In addition, any federal judge may prosecuted in the criminal courts for criminal activity. If found guilty of a crime in a federal district court, the justice would face the same type of sentencing any other criminal defendant would. The district court could not remove him/her from the Bench. However, any justice found guilty in the criminal courts of any felony would certainly be impeached and, if found guilty, removed from office.

...In the United States, impeachment is most often used to remove corrupt lower-court federal judges from office, but it's not unusual to find disgruntled special interest groups circulating petitions on the internet calling for the impeachment of one or all members of the High Court...

Only one Supreme Court Justice, Samuel Chase (one of the signatories to the Declaration of Independence), has ever been impeached. The House of Representatives accused Chase of letting his Federalist political leanings affect his rulings, and served him with eight articles of impeachment in late 1804. The Senate acquitted him of all charges in 1805, establishing the right of the judiciary to independent opinion. Chase continued on the Court until his death in June 1811.

...In 1957, at the height of McCarthyism, the Georgia General Assembly passed a joint resolution calling for "The Impeachment of Certain U.S. Supreme Court Justices" believed to be enabling Communism with their decisions. The resolution targeted Chief Justice Earl Warren and Associate Justices Hugo Black, William O. Douglas, Tom Campbell Clark, Felix Frankfurter, and Stanley Forman Reed (as well as several unnamed deceased Justices) for "...[usurping] the congressional power to make law in violation of Article I, Sections I and 8, and violated Sections 3 and 5 of the 14th Amendment and nullified the 10th Amendment of the Constitution."

¨Article I, Section 3, Clause 7: "Judgment in Cases of Impeachment shall not extend further than to removal from Office, and disqualification to hold and enjoy any Office of honor, Trust or Profit under the United States; but the Party convicted shall nevertheless be liable and subject to Indictment, Trial, Judgment and Punishment, according to Law."

Separation of church and state in the United States

¨The concept of separating church and state is often credited to the writings of English philosopher John Locke. According to his principle of the social contract, Locke argued that the government lacked authority in the realm of individual conscience, as this was something rational people could not cede to the government for it or others to control.¨ HERE

In the twentieth century, the Supreme Court more closely scrutinized government activity involving religious institutions.

¨The "establishment of religion" clause of the First Amendment means at least this: Neither a state nor the federal government can set up a church. Neither can pass laws which aid one religion, aid all religions, or prefer one religion over another. Neither can force nor influence a person to go to or to remain away from church against his will or force him to profess a belief or disbelief in any religion. No person can be punished for entertaining or professing religious beliefs or disbeliefs, for church attendance or non-attendance. No tax in any amount, large or small, can be levied to support any religious activities or institutions, whatever they may be called, or whatever form they may adopt to teach or practice religion. Neither a state nor the Federal Government can, openly or secretly, participate in the affairs of any religious organizations or groups and vice versa. In the words of Jefferson, the clause against establishment of religion by law was intended to erect "a wall of separation between church and State." HERE

Thanks Göran, I´m certain this is not original to me but someone, somewhere has to start thinking about the Dominionistlike capers these judges are pulling off...we´ve already been shown they have little respect for the regular citizens ability to select elected officials and have now allowed for Corporations to buy the Republic (through unlimited $$ donations for campaigning candidates for office...who needs Lobbiests? Well, Lobbiests could probably become the ¨middlemen/women¨ and make all the nastier ¨arrangements/committments¨ before the ¨check is in the mail.¨

I find this whole prospect disgusting and it´s especially annoying to suddenly realize that they´ve, Bush and Bush and others, have been PLOTTING this takeover for years!

So much for integrity...we´re about on empty with and all these flagwaving idiots don´t even know they´ve been USED and we´re all about to be HAD (of course the Whitepeople will come out ok unless one is a LGBT person...they don´t even care about THAT except that more family benefits through LGBT marriage/legal hookups will COST MONEY...money that they intend to keep for themselves).

I wish I weren´t dreaming this stuff up...if I am, good, there are sometimes when it´s WONDERFUL to be wrong.
