Dr. Rowan Williams, Archbishop of Canterbury and ¨first amongst EQUALS¨ at The Anglican Communion

¨The spiritual leader of the global Anglican Communion issued an unusually sharp and swift rebuke to Episcopal Church leaders over the election of an openly gay bishop in the Episcopal Diocese of Los Angeles.

In a terse statement, Archbishop of Canterbury Rowan Williams delivered a warning to bishops, clergy and lay representatives of the U.S. church about the confirmation of the Rev. Canon Mary D. Glasspool, a lesbian who has been in a partnered relationship for two decades.¨ HERE

“The election of Mary Glasspool by the Diocese of Los Angeles as suffragan bishop elect raises very serious questions not just for the Episcopal Church and its place in the Anglican Communion, but for the Communion as a whole,” Williams said in the statement.

The Drummer Boy

The lyrics tell the apocryphal story of a poor young boy who, unable to afford a gift for the infant Jesus, plays his drum for the newborn with the Virgin Mary's approval. Miraculously, the baby, although a newborn, seems to understand and smiles at the boy in gratitude. The story is somewhat similar to an old twelfth-century legend retold by Anatole France as Le jongleur de Notre-Dame (French: The Juggler of Notre Dame), which was adapted into an opera in 1902 by Jules Massenet. In the French legend, however, a juggler juggles before the statue of the Virgin Mary, and the statue, according to which version of the legend one reads, either smiles at him or throws him a rose.

Our Lady of Guadalupe is a celebrated 16th-century icon of the Virgin Mary, mother of Jesus Christ

A ¨compass¨ Rose for the Archbishop of Canterbury to help guide him on his spiritual journey...pa rum pum pum pum

UPDATE: Chicago Consultation responds to Archbishop Williams

¨We hope that when the Archbishop realizes the damage he has done to the Communion’s ministry among gay and lesbian Christians and those who seek justice for them, he will reconsider both the words he has spoken and the words he has not.”HERE

Göran, I think ++Rowan is growing ¨devil¨ eyebrows uncontrollably now, he´s lost all sense of dignity...I´m wondering if he intends to decorate himself as a vision of Christmas PAST...hopefully he will remain unrecognized as a religious person during this Happy Holiday Season in Uganda..fa,la,la, and the far too upclose sound of clanging/banging chains wound tightly around Henri Orombis LGBT Anglican Christian NECKS.

Rowan do you really believe Mary Glasspool is unworthy of your support? Why should her gender and sexual orientation matter? Rowan stand up for what you truly believe and show the faith and heart that is expected of you. All will fall into place and you will at least be your own person again. Your are being blackmailed and you are losing your courage and giving into injustice. What is a church without love and compassion?
