| ¨Mas de Notre-Dame du Vie, the home and studio where legendary artist Pablo Picasso spent the last 12 years of his life, has returned to market after a thorough renovation by a Belgian art dealer, who restored and expanded the historic structure. The dealer, who paid somewhere between $13M and $16M, but is now asking an astonishing $220M for the 35-room villa. That sky-high price includes ten bedrooms, eight bathrooms, a pair of swimming pools, a tennis court, expansive gardens, a guest house, and a guard house, but not nearly enough to justify the absurd markup. Unless, of course, a few of Picasso's multimillion-dollar masterpieces are also included.¨ |

You get a lot of bang for your buck, if you have the bucks. History and a lovely villa. Buy it, Leonardo, and I'll come to visit.
I know. Rarely do I feel a sort of longing for anything...anything! I've had much in my life that suited me perfectly and was a great gift...but this, I must admit, grabbed me hard, I can imagine living here and the studio would hum again (perhaps I would live until my 90´s too). Lately I keep thinking it would be nice to be well-known (I was once a rather recognized designer in a little segment of the fashion industry and I tired of it) again. Might be a nice finale! Only God knows and the sermon this morning suggested that I take my place at a less prominent place at the ¨table¨...I am doing that just fine.

They cost nothing. I've had mine. Of course, not get all our fantasies and dreams come true. You'd have to win a huge lottery or inherit from a relative that you probably don't even know exists to buy the villa, but it is lovely.
