PRESIDENTIAL MEDAL OF FREEDOM ALERT: Archbishop Desmond Tutu amongst the “sixteen agents of change”

Desmond Tutu, The Anglican Archbishop Emeritus of Cape Town, winner of the Nobel Prize for Peace and The Presidential Medal of Freedom

The White House yesterday announced “sixteen agents of change” to receive the Presidential Medal of Freedom, the nation’s highest civilian honor.

Harvey Milk, R.I.P.

Amongst the other sixteen are Harvey Milk and Billie Jean King.

Billie Jean King

Focus On the Family, predictably, is having a complete meltdown over it.¨ read it all at Box Turtle bulletin by Jim Burroway, click HERE

¨Jeff Johnston of Focus on the Family has written an irresponsible piece on Harvey Milk that is all over the map. It looks like the piece was created to criticize the movie Milk but tailored to include talking about Milk's recent selection as a Presidential Medal of Freedom recipient.¨ read it all, click HERE

Archbishop Tutu should be a candidate for sainthood :-) and I am pleased about Harvey Milk even if it has been a long time. Sorry I will not be reading the Focus on family article, there are enough miserable people in the world without seeking them.

Hi Brian, I didn´t read it either, I don´t have the stomach for their deceptive nonsense...however, I always try and record them to remind myself the extremists are dangerous (and I think demented) and must be watched! A personal habit started in my early childhood and I´m still alive.

Hi Leonardo--Do not read it. It is the worst ignorant drivel. You would have to consume at least 100 chocolate souffles for two to even start to ease the pain it will cause.

How's the knee?

Great pic of ++Tutu.

Leo, ain't it grand?

I like your picture of Harvey better than the one I used.

Yes, it´s grand, and I love happy moments caputured so authically...nice, and Bonnie and Brian I won´t read it...I honestly think the fear tactics are running the muckrucking enterprises amuck...I think they´ve got to come up with something more realistic that scare tactics and zealot witchdoctor cures...they´ve nowhere to run except off at the mouth...a non-science they´ve perfected (I should talk).

My knee is better, I finally went to the neighborhood doctor/mayor who advised there was some infection in my leg caused by my knee meeting table leg a week ago...who would have known, I thought I´d been wounded horribly (stiff upper and all)...but, I´m trying to ¨stay off it¨...and staying off it is very hard to do when I´ve got visions of great masterpieces dancing in my brain...went to the open mercado today and wrestled with all the indigneous vendors, I think I´m coming back and/or they´ve given up the fight...I purchased beautiful heads of Broccoli for about 12 cents U.S. a head, everything was a ganga today...I´m roasting a roast beef as I write and the fruit platter is heaping...we´re ready for more dieting (white carbos are out) and back to long hours at the gym after my knee regroups.

Abrazos to all,

Leonardo

Leo, I didn't read the FOF link either. I can't do it. That sort of stuff runs up my blood pressure.

Hi Leonardo--And you are staying off of your knee when? Prayers for healing and you shall have to tell us about the mayor/doctor sometime. Interesting combination.

Leonardo dearest, as I write this, I am eating a piece of fudge cake with a German chocolate cake-type icing. Why did that have me thinking of you, and coming over here to check on you? (I was doing so well, no chocolate for 4 days. Oops.)

Eat your veggies.

All good choices. Thanks Leonardo.

Dear Fred and Lynn, thanks for the notes, I love to see you both. Chocolate Fudgecake...evilone, I´ve just had a huge plate of Melon and Mango for a late breakfast...why does Fudgecake sound like the perfect desert? I´m a sick cookie (but my pants are fitting better)...the knee is almost redless today...horray!
