STOP IN THE NAME OF LOVE: Fr. Ricardo Frohmader and the English speaking Episcopal/Anglican parishes of St. James and St. Albans in Guatemala, Central America

Today, I had lunch with a longterm great friend, Elizabeth Bell (Antigua Tours) http://antiguatours.net/and she is  the most well known/award winning and  famous historian and author around this Spanish Colonial Capitol (and Episcopalian) and our new priest Fr. Ricardo Frohmader (a very fun and loving man).  Fr. Ricardo is working very hard with the English Speaking parishes in Guatemala City (St. James) and Antigua (St. Albans) and he does both services with Holy Eucharist in both cities EVERY Sunday. 

It was a wonderful mid-week-break and sooo much fun as we had a lovely/casual patio lunch (Big Americano style hamburgers, with french fries and even a cheese cake jumbo slice we split for dessert) --- AND, all with a view of the stunning AGUA VOLCANO.

ARCHBISHOP OKOH/NIGERIA: The Anglican Primate of Nigeria has gone to Nirobi to promote dissension, discord , divisive stewardship and evangelical better-than-you/me-holiness

AS NIGERIA CONTINUES TO BE AFLAME WITH SOCIAL STRIFE AND DEADLY CIVIL UNREST --  ARCHBISHOP OKOH TAKES A LARGE ¨RELIGIOUSLIKE DELEGATION¨ TO KENYA TO ENDORSE MORE DIFFERENCE, AND HATERED WITHIN THE ANGLICAN COMMUNION

¨The Primate of the Church of Nigeria (Anglican Communion), Archbishop Nicholas Okoh, left Abuja on Sunday as the head of Nigeria’s 470-man delegation to Kenya, to attend the second Global Anglican Future Conference (GAFCON), opening today, October 21.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reported that Okoh, while in Nairobi, would join leaders from Anglican Provinces in Africa, Asia, Australia, South America, UK and  the U.S. to discuss the future of the Anglican Communion.

GAFCON was established in 2008 as a result of the strange teaching of western churches of the Anglican Communion, particularly on sexual preferences and homosexuality.

The maiden conference took place in Jerusalem in 2008, the same year Nigerian bishops pulled out from the Lambert Conference, the once-a-decade meeting of all Anglican bishops.

In a prayer and fasting session on October 15 in Abuja, Okoh urged Anglicans in Nigeria to pray for the security and success of the conference in Nairobi.

He recounted that in 2008, the hotel where some delegates stayed in Jerusalem was bombed hours after they checked out.

The meeting in Kenya is coming nearly a month after the terror attack on the Westgate Mall in Nairobi.

The primate noted that as expected, organisers had ensured tight security around the venue of the event, All Saints Cathedral, Nairobi from October 21 to October 26.

Meanwhile, the Archbishop of Canterbury, the Most Reverend Justin Welby, will address the GAFCON primates on Sunday, in Nairobi, before the conference opens the following day.

A delegate,  Mr Abraham Yisa, who is also the Registrar of the Church of Nigeria, said the issues that brought about the birth of GAFCON in 2008 had not abated five years after.

“The things that brought about GAFCON have not changed, indeed, they are worse off. In England, the parliament has legalised gay marriage.

“Canada and America have persisted in their revisionist teachings and this has kept the GAFCON primates, clergy and laity more united....don't miss a word

RETIREMENT IN FULL BLOOM: The colorfilled world of my artwork that keeps on growing (just like me)

Earlier in my working life I attended the Premiere Vision/Première Vision exposition (fabric forecasting one year in advance) in Paris every year for over eight years. It was a fantastic experience because every major, and growing/minor, fashion designer/product person visited this show to better understand coming trends in color, in texture, in mood (every) as emerging through textiles.

 Many of the best known designers attend to order or customize and then order their fabrics for fashion week/season presentations (all different shows in different countries and at different levels of pricepoints at retail and wholesale). Attending Premiere Vision/Paris remains part of my collection of inspirational memories in my life as both a buyer and later as a product development person.

Pointillism for prints?

In retirement my artwork has grown and blossomed into the kind of newness and excitement that I think would make very new/saleable fabric prints (or wovens) for either fashion or decorative (even printed on manmade or natural materials such as leather for handbags).

Geometrics? (lamp bases, series of three pair)

I am now deciding what a solid new presentation of my work (possibly even in concert with a NGO for their fund raising) would look like for promoting  it/myself into the fashion industry (again).

I am also thinking much about a sensible/captivating online direct approach and will look forward to making contact with relieable and forward fashion editors, designers and sources who value interesting/new artwork in the fashion and/or decorative/design industry.
